John Deere Sway Block Part Numbers: R210605, R207665, R309701, R274328

The complete cross-reference for John Deere factory sway block and wear plate part numbers, what tractors they fit, and what replaces each in the RollerGlide system.

7 min read · Updated June 2026

If you've ever looked up the part numbers for the sway block and wear plate components on your John Deere three-point hitch, you've probably noticed the system uses different parts depending on which tractor you have. There are two distinct generations of factory hardware, and the cross-references aren't intuitive. This article lays out exactly what each part number is, what tractor it fits, and what replaces it in the RollerGlide 3-Point System.

The two distinct generations

Older generation: R210605 / R210604 wear plates with R207665 / R207666 sway blocks

This is the original John Deere hitch hardware used through the Final Tier 4 transition (roughly 2014). If your tractor was built before the Final Tier 4 update, your hitch likely uses this part set. Specifically:

For wheeled tractors in this group, the RollerGlide replacement is Classic. For all 8RT track tractors in this group (including the current-generation 8RT 310-410), the replacement is Trac, which uses the same precision assembly as the Classic but is configured for the hitch geometry of a tracked tractor. (For the earlier John Deere 8000 Series wheeled — 8100, 8200, 8300, 8400 — the correct variant is Heritage.)

Current generation: R309701 / R309702 sway blocks with R274328 / R274326 wear plates

From the Final Tier 4 update forward, John Deere transitioned the wheeled 8R lineup and introduced the 8RX (four-track) and the 7R with this newer sway block design. The bolt pattern is different from the older generation, so the parts are not interchangeable. Tractors using this set include:

All of these are covered by the RollerGlide Precision variant.

How to verify which set is on your tractor

If you're not sure which generation your tractor uses, the easiest method is to look at the existing sway block and wear plate. Three quick checks:

  1. Look at the bolt pattern. The older R207665 sway block uses a different bolt spacing than the newer R309701. If you have access to a parts diagram from a John Deere dealer, you can compare side by side.
  2. Check the part number stamped on the wear plate. Some wear plates have the part number cast or stamped directly. Pull one off if you have to.
  3. Send us a photo. If you'd rather not pull anything apart, take a clear photo of the sway block area on your tractor and email it to orders@truepointag.com. We can identify the variant from the bolt pattern in the photo and confirm which RollerGlide you need before you order.

Why the part number matters

Ordering the wrong RollerGlide variant means the brackets won't bolt to your hitch. The mounting holes simply don't line up between the two generations. Verifying the part number (or tractor model and year) before ordering protects you from a return shipment and an extra week of waiting. We list every supported tractor model on the fitment chart, but the OEM part-number lookup is the most precise way to confirm.

What RollerGlide actually replaces

For an order of any RollerGlide variant (Heritage, Classic, Precision, or Trac), you receive a complete bilateral kit: two RollerGlide bracket assemblies (RH and LH), grade 8 hardware pre-installed with nylock nuts at the correct torque, and tractor-specific wear plates. The kit replaces the OEM sway blocks AND the OEM wear plates — you do not need to source any factory parts to complete the install.

Need help confirming your variant?

Send us a photo of your sway block area and we'll confirm the right variant (Heritage, Classic, Precision, or Trac) before you order. Same-day response on weekdays.

A note on John Deere parts availability

OEM replacement plates and sway blocks are still available through John Deere dealers, and they are an acceptable short-term fix if you only need to get through one more season. For any tractor you plan to keep more than two more years, the RollerGlide system is more economical end-to-end — it's a one-time purchase versus repeated replacements, and it restores precision instead of just buying time.
